Saffron Sauce

A lovely saffron sauce in which white wine and saffron are cooked together. Let it stand for a couple of hours so that the flavours can fully develop.

  • 50 ml White Wine
  • ½ g Saffron
  • 250 g Quark
  • ½ Small Red Onion
  • 1 Celery Stalk
  • 1 Pinch Salt And Pepper
  • 1 Pinch Sugar


Step 1

Mix the wine and saffron in a small saucepan, gently heating for no longer than 1 minute.

Step 2

Let it cool. Peel and chop the onion. Slice the celery thinly.

Step 3

Mix all ingredients and season with salt, pepper and some sugar.

Step 4

Allow to stand in the fridge for a few hours before serving.
