Red Wine Jus

Use this delicious red wine jus to add flavour to your everday meals. Just pour some into an ice tray and freeze and you'll have ready made flavouring for another dinner!

  • 4 servings


  • 2 Shallots
  • 250 ml Red Wine
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 tbsp Beef Stock
  • 250 ml Water
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Thyme
  • 1 Pinch Salt And Pepper
  • 1 tsp Caster Sugar
  • 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Cornflour


Step 1

Peel and chop the onions and garlic. Fry in a little butter in a saucepan. Pour in the wine and reduce to half.

Step 2

Pour in the beef stock and water. Add the sprig of thyme and cook.

Step 3

Strain the liquid and season with salt, pepper, sugar and vinegar.

Step 4

Thicken with cornflour mixed in a little water. Add in the butter just before serving.
