Chicken Tikka Masala

Chicken Tikka Masala is an Indian favourite that is appreciated both for everyday life and celebrations. With this recipe you can easily make a wonderful curry from scratch.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken Breast Fillets
  • 3 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground Tumeric
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Yellow Onions
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Pot Of Fresh Coriander
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1 Can Of Chopped Tomatoes (About 400g)
  • 100 ml Whipped Cream
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Pinches Black Pepper
  • 100 g Natural Yogurt

Method

Step 1

Cut the chicken into pieces. Mix the spices together.

Step 2

Peel and cut the onions into thin slices. Chop the red pepper into pieces. Remove and save the leaves on the coriander and chop the stems.

Step 3

Fry onions and peppers in butter until soft. Add chicken, garlic, ginger and spice mixture. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

Pour in the chopped tomatoes, cream, coriander stalks, salt and pepper. Allow to boil on a low heat for about 10 minutes. Stir in the natural yogurt.

Step 5

Sprinkle with coriander leaves and serve with Asian yogurt sauce, mango chutney and naan bread.
