Potato Fritters with Cottage Cheese

Classic Swedish home cooking. Cottage cheese and leek are a great addition to potato fritters.

  • About 200 g Yellow Onions
  • About 300 g Potatoes
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 Pinch Pepper
  • 5 g Butter
  • 250 g Cottage Cheese
  • Red Onion


Step 1

Peel potatoes and onions. Grate the potatoes. Slice or chop the onion finely. Mix the potatoes and onions with beaten egg, salt and pepper.

Step 2

Fry a little butter in a frying pan. Add in three dollops of potato mixture at a time, approximately 50ml batter spread thinly. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until yellowish-brown and crispy.

Step 3

Serve them straight away with cottage cheese and finely shredded red onion.
